Richard Osmond Scoops Seamus Heaney Centre Prize
Richard Osmond's debut collection USEFUL VERSES has picked up the Seamus Heaney Centre Prize for First Collection. The prize is worth £5,000 and Richard will have the chance to go to the Glucksman Ireland House, New York University to read his work. Of the collection the chair of the judging panel, Professor Edna Longley, said:
‘Useful Verses is a wonderfully original collection, which relishes and renews everything that poetry can do with language. It’s also a challenging vision of our relations with the natural world.’
