Marilyn Esther Chi
Biography
Marilyn Esther Chi is a UK based illustrator who takes inspiration from anything and everything.
Having graduated from UCL with a masters in pharmacy, illustration and writing was the obvious next step. “The aim of the game is to create something that will be cherished whilst still maintaining a sense of wonderment.” Marilyn's choice of medium for illustration varies from digital art, to acrylic paints to a simple pencil on paper. It really depends on what a story asks for. But there is nothing she isn’t willing to try.
Marilyn's debut YA graphic novel, Aphrodite will be published by Bloomsbury in 2027.
Marilyn's latest books include Black Artists Shaping the World (Thames and Hudson),written by Sharna Jackson and Cycling in the Summer (HarperCollins), written by the Joseph Coelho. Marilyn has also illustrated the chapter headings in The Case of the Chaos Monster (Scholastic) in the fantastic middle grade series by Patrice Lawrence.
