Jakuta Alikavazovic

Biography

Jakuta Alikavazovic is a French writer of Bosnian and Montenegrin origins. Her debut novel, Corps Volatils, won the Prix Goncourt for Best First Novel in 2008 and her essay Comme un Ciel en Nous (Like a Sky Inside) won the Prix Medicis Essai 2021 and was longlisted for two National Book Critics Circle Award in the US. Her novel Night As It Falls was published in English in 2022. Her most recent novel, Au Grand Jamais, was published in 2025. It was shortlisted for the Prix Femina, the Prix des Inrocks and longlisted for the Prix Decembre and the Prix Renaudot. She lives in Paris and writes a regular column for Libération.
