Ingrid Persaud
Biography
Ingrid Persaud is a Trinidad-born, London-based novelist whose work explores belonging, inheritance, and resilience. Her debut novel Love After Love (Faber, 2020) received the Costa First Novel Award, the Authors’ Club First Novel Award, and the Indie Book Award for Fiction, while her story The Sweet Sop won both the Commonwealth Short Story Prize and the BBC National Short Story Award. Her most recent book, The Lost Love Songs (Faber, 2024), was shortlisted for the RSL Encore Prize and the Diversity Book Award. She teaches on the MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature (FRSL).
