Roisín O'Donnell
Biography
Roisín O’Donnell is an award-winning Irish author, whose debut novel Nesting became an instant Sunday Times bestseller and was a British Book Award and Irish Book Award winner. Nesting was nominated for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, selected as a Book at Bedtime on BBC Radio Four, and featured in the Observer Best New Novelists 2025. Roisín is also a short story writer; her short story collection Wild Quiet was published in 2016 and was shortlisted for the Kate O’Brien Award and longlisted for the Edge Hill Prize. He short stories have been published in The Stinging Fly, The Irish Times and many other places, and have been broadcast on RTÉ Radio and BBC Radio Four. Roisín grew up in Sheffield, with family roots in Derry city, and she now lives in Meath with her two children.
