Biography
Frank Muir (1920 - 1998) was a comedy writer, broadcaster and raconteur. He was born in Ramsgate, Kent, and served as a photographer in the RAF before launching into a career as a comic scriptwriter.
Amongst many writing credits, Muir was the author of A Kentish Lad, a number one bestselling autobiography (Corgi, 2011) as well as the celebrated comic novel The Walpole Orange (Corgi, 1994).
His beloved children's picture book series, What-a-Mess, about a scruffy Afghan Hound puppy, was illustrated by Joseph Wright - and twice adapted for television.
