Laia Jufresa

Biography

Laia Jufresa is a Mexican author, based in Edinburgh. Her debut novel, Umami, has been widely translated and won the award for the Best First Novel in Spanish at the 2016 Festival du Premier Roman. Jufresa was named one of the best young Latin American writers in the Bogotá39 and the Mexico20, and was selected as one of the young authors who will shape the world over the next thirty years by the Hay Festival. Her writing has appeared in Vogue, Words Without Borders and El País. Wishbone is her English-language debut.
