Jan Machielsen
Biography
Jan Machielsen is an historian of early modern Europe, and Reader in Early Modern History at Cardiff University. He is the author of The Basque Witch-Hunt: A Secret History (Bloomsbury Academic, 2024), which won an American Association of Publisher Prose Award, and The War on Witchcraft (Cambridge University Press, 2021). He is at work on his first trade book.
