Owen Good

Biography

Owen Good is an editor, writer, and literary translator working from Hungarian. He has published four works of translated fiction with Seagull Books, including Krisztina Tóth’s Pixel, Pál Závada’s historical novel Market Day, and most recently Ferenc Barnás’ Other Death. His translations of Krisztina Tóth’s poetry received Asymptote’s Close Approximations Prize, while Pixel received the Runner-Up EBRD Literary Prize. He has published translations in Ploughshares, Modern Poetry in Translation, and The Poetry Review, among others. Owen currently edits at Hungarian Literature Online. In 2025, he was awarded the Tibor Déry Prize for outstanding contribution to Hungarian literature.
