Biography

Gene Png is an award-winning literary translator based in Singapore. She graduated from Yonsei University’s Underwood International College with a degree in Asian Studies. She was awarded the Grand Prize in Poetry at the 53rd The Korea Times’ Translation Awards, and was the National Centre for Writing’s Korean Prose Mentee in 2023 where she was mentored by Anton Hur. Her full-length book translations include Kim Hana and Hwang Sunwoo’s bestselling memoir, Two Women Living Together, Esther Park’s romantasy The Legend of Lady Byeoksa and Park Seolyeon’s STEMinist mecha fantasy Project V. She is interested in books that champion girl power, empathy, and whimsy.
